This year Sport Relief is teaming up with the Commonwealth Sport Foundation to celebrate the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games this summer. They are joining forces to inspire the nation through a shared love of sport, using this momentous sporting event as an opportunity to raise money to change lives for the better.
Sports Relief is challenging people to Move 22 during the 12 days of the Commonwealth Games. Run, swim, wheel, or pogo your miles across several days or go flat-out marathon-style and complete 22 miles in one go. Or, get creative and Move 22 your way- complete 22 burpees every hour for 22 hours or try 22 yoga cycles in a day- whatever moves you!
Here at Finesse, we took part in a challenge to complete 22 ‘22 minute HIIT workouts’ within 12 days. That works out at a minimum of 2 a day. We aimed to do as many of them as possible in the office to ensure there was no cheating!!
The Move 22 Challenge was a huge physical challenge. After a few days, there were aches and pains in muscles we didn't know existed! But we were all motivated by the amazing cause we were raising money for.
Sarah completed 503 minutes and 55 seconds of exercise (8 hours and 38 minutes), burning 3999 calories.
Erika burned 3258 calories, with her highest heart rate being 179bpm.
We set a target of raising £250, with us managing to raise a total of £328, A great effort from all involved.
